BEST BETS
R3 n6 FOREIGN PRESS Forward inside behind lead group. 4* up off 21 days drops 4.5kg back to 1110m (-90m). Last start 3YO Eagle Farm S5 out to 1200m (1000m) drew inside led and on an even tempo and was tough to the line but couldn’t hold off Impervious (won since) running 2nd beaten narrowly. That form line has been franked by Impervious and she sets up well today with 55kg off a great map. Keen she wins.
R6 n5 PANNIER Forward inside behind leaders. 2’* up off 28 days rises 3kg and well suited out to 1350m (+150m). Resumed off long 448-day spell BM75 Toowoomba sat 4″ early 5L off leader on an even tempo. Was then held up coming to turn before exploding later in straight to win by 9.1L which is a huge margin. Race obviously rated dominant best of meeting and he closed off with 5′ fastest L200m of meeting. Drawn to win again.
R8 n1 DUCASSE Forward inside behind leaders. 2’* up off 14 days drops 3kg and suited out to 1600m. Last start resumed off 106 days EFarm G3 track drew outside with 60kg sat back 8th early on a fast tempo and charged home late for 4th beaten 0.7L by Bullion Boy. His L400m figure from there was outstanding off that tempo. He wasn’t well ridden there and should have finished closer. Proven out to 1600m and gets 5kg weight swing on Bullion Boy on the more forgiving Doomben surface. All his 2’* up stats (where he hasn’t won) have been in much tougher class races than here, sets up well today.

R2 n2 TYCOON STAR Map suits back off MF outside. 3’* up off 14 days back to 1100m (-100m). Last start when 2nd up out to 1200m 3YO Group 3 Caulfield S5 track drew outside crossed early to end up 2nd early outside leader on a fast tempo. He was too strong from there winning easily late by 1.8L. Race rated strongly. He accelerated late there off a fast tempo when he had to work hard early which is a sign of genuine quality in a horse. Back to 1100m today but wide draw will allow him to drop on these late and win. Really like him as a horse and expect him to develop into a Group 1 sprinter later in his career.
R8 n5 VIA SISTINA 2’* up off 21 days and suited out to 1600m (+200m). Last start resumed off 133 days Group 1 WFA Randwick H10 track sat back 7th inside 8L off leader on a slow tempo and joined in inside down the straight and was very tough late when challenged to win by 0.4L over Aeliana. Her L600m figure there was outstanding. Champion mare and the one they all have to beat again back onto the dryer track.
R9 n3 LAZZURA Forward inside behind lead group. 2’* up off 21 days rises 1.5kg and suited out to 1400m (+200m). Last start resumed off 133 days Group 3 Randwick H10 track drew outside sat back last SL off leader on a slow tempo and charged home late in between runners to win easily by 1.4L. Race rated strongly and she had a completely dominant L400m figure from the race. High quality win there and so much better suited out to 1400m today on the dryer track. Map is ideal and J Mac can do the rest from there. Keen she wins.

R5 n9 CATCH THE GLORY Maps 4P back outside. 5* up off 14 days drops 2.5kg and stays at 1100m. Last start BM78 Rosehill S5 track sat 7th inside (best ground) 4L of leader on a fast tempo and was very strong to the line winning by 1.2L. Race rated highly and she had a powerful L600m figure off that tempo. Great win and is a really improved mare. Tim Clark has first ride and really keen she is the horse to beat here today.
R7 n8 GANGSTA GRANNY Maps 2’* outside leader. 2’* up off 21 days rises 1kg and out to 1200m (+100m). Last start resumed off 154 days F&M Group 3 Randwick H10 track drew outside crossed early to sit 2nd on an even tempo and took over in straight before being run down late by Autumn Glow who is a freakish mare. Her L600m figure there was brilliant off that tempo – it was an outstanding return with good margins behind her. Map suits up on speed with the light weight and confident she wins from there.

R6 n4 I CAN HELP Nothing went right on debut but finished off like a very nice horse. He got squeezed out the back early then raced wide without cover before hitting the line in the 2’* best L100 of the meeting. Will be better for the experience, gets a huge jockey upgrade and maps perfectly behind a good speed. Very hard to beat.

R1 n5 BRAVE WASP Resumes off 118 days and an impressive trial Belmont Sept 1. Last run was on debut 2YO Ascot $6 track drew inside sat back off MF on a fast tempo 8L off leader. He was held up in straight until late but really hit the line late when clear beaten 0.8L by Capitola when backed at longer odds. Excellent debut and L200m figure there was excellent. Really like him resuming at 1200m, he will be very strong late and should be winning.
R4 n4 FINAL SIREN 2nd up off 70 days and a 1000m trial Belmont where he was a dominant winner by 5.2L when never ever under any pressure. His resuming run Listed Pinjarra 55 track down the straight was excellent closing off with 10th fastest L200m of the meeting off a crazy fast tempo. That was an outstanding return. Maps on speed today, proven out to 1300m and his danger Stormchaser will be back last on the map! Keen he wins.
