BEST BETS

R7 n10 QUEEN AIR Smart mare who has a real sense of timing about her for this race. Both runs back from a spell have been good including last start when stepping up to a mile and found the line very nicely late, looks primed to run a strong 2000m. Will have to go back from the sticky draw but there looks to be genuine speed which suits. Gets in with a light weight and with any luck in transit can run over the top of these late to score.

R8 n14 TAVS Resumes off 111-day spell with two trials and an impressive jump out. Drawn to sit back behind the speed along the inside and look for runs to appear before the corner. Won two in a row impressively at Eagle Farm last preparation in quick figures then an unlucky 4th behind The Inflictor and finished the campaign with another 4th behind Transatlantic in a Listed race. Has been set for this race and looks beautifully weighted on the minimum, very hard to beat.

R9 n1 WORTHY ENUFF Promising 3yo gelding who has found the line strongly in all 5 starts to date. Maps back along the inside off a fast tempo which suits. Things didn’t pan out when resuming at Doomben when a touch slow away then over raced when the pace slackened before finishing off strongly for a closing 3ra behind Foreign Press. Gets blinkers first time, will be much fitter and gets home track advantage here. If they overdo it up front which looks a chance, he can knock the favourites off here at good each way odds.

R4 n1 KING ZEPHYR Positive early from draw to behind the lead group. 2a up off 21 days and suited out to 1400m. (+200m). Last start resumed off 112 days BM84 Moonee Valley and sat back 7th early 6L off leader on a slow tempo and looked to be in trouble coming to the corner- he just didn’t handle the tight Moonee Valley turn there but he really flattened out late with 3rd fastest L200m of meeting when 3rd beaten 1.1L by La Fracas. Back to Flemington 1400m is perfect. He only needs normal luck (not always the case this rider) off the inside map and he will be too good for these and win.

R6 n5 OLE DANCER Tough map back and wide early. 3ra up off 21 days drops 1kg out to 1400m (+200m). Last start was 2nd up off 42 days 3YO Listed Moonee Valley drew negatively went back to 2nd last 10L off leader on an even tempo and zero hope from there. Got out wider in straight and charged home late for 4th beaten 4.1L by Alpha Sofie. Race rated strongly and she closed off with fastest L200m of meeting when heavily backed. Really nice filly with strong closing speed well suited out to 1400m today. Negative map but she will charge home late this tempo.

R7 n3 TRANSATLANTIC Positive early from draw to be on speed. 2d up off 14 days and well suited out to 1500m (+100m). Last start resumed off 91 days 4Y0+ Listed Flemington they went crazy in front early- he was a part of that speed sitting 3rd 2L off leader. Got to front in straight and looked home before a swooper picked him off late beaten on the line by Cafe Millenium. Race rated through the roof and there was a good margin to 3rd horse. His effort there was outstanding and is a much better horse 2’a up from a spell. Keen he wins.

R8 n2 GLOBE Positive early from draw to lead and control. 3ª up off 14 days and well suited out to 1800m (+100m). Last start Open Flemington when 2nd up out to 1700m he led but went crazy in front on a suicidal tempo and the field spread right out. Kicked away in straight but had to stop late running 4th to Golden Path beaten 0.5L. Race rated highly and his run there was excellent. Now had two very fast on pace runs back off his spell and gets control again today for B Shinn 3rª up and ready to win. Classy stayer unbeaten this track and trip.

BEST BETS

R3 n7 JUJA KIBO Positive early from draw to be on speed (ok this tempo). Deeper into prep off 14 days drops 5.5kg and stays at 2400m. Last start BM78 Rosehill S6 track where you had to be forward and inside on fence and inside drew wider crossed early on an even tempo and sat 2nd 2L off leader and was too strong late winning by 1.7L. Very well ridden there by E Brown and was holding both placegetters on the line. Back onto a dry track with the big weight drop and it looks a rinse and repeat map from last start. This race is not much stronger class wise either. Very hard to beat again.

R5 n3 LORD OF BISCAY Forward inside on map from draw. 21d up off 28 days and ran 5th in tick over 1000m trial Muswellbrook Sept 17. Out to 1400m (+200m) off resuming run off 140-day spell BM88 Rosehill S5 track when drew outside went back gth early on a fast tempo and was wide there with cover 8L off the leader. Clear run home late for 3rd beaten 1.1L by Lady Extreme. Race rated highly and he closed off well late. 1400m back onto the dryer track off a nice trial with J Mac is perfect.

R8 n9 TEMPTED Maps 3 pairs back outside. 2nd up off 14 days drops 1kg and out to 1400m (+200m). Last start 3YO Group 2 Rosehill S6 resumed for new trainer (ex-Godolphin) off 154-day spell sat back 6th outside 6L off leader on a very fast tempo and was always comfortable the entire race. Charged home late from there to win easily by 1.6L and eased down late. Race rated brilliantly. Class act and 1400m zero issues off that effort.

R9 n4 RISE AT DAWN Positive early to lead and control from wider draw. 21d up off 14 days drops 2.5kg and suited out to 1500m (+100m). Last start resumed off 91 days 4YO+ Listed Flemington drew outside crossed early on a crazy tempo to sit 2nd outside leader and he was very brave late off that running 3rd to swooper out wide Cafe Millenium beaten 1.6L. He is a much better horses when he can lead on his own. Has won 2nd up previously and was beaten 0.5L in last year’s Group 1 Doncaster. Sets up perfectly this map and keen he wins.
