MEETING PREVIEW
Race 1: FAV’S FLYER showed brilliant speed to lead all the way to break his maiden status at Toowoomba two runs back, then didn’t see out the 1050m next start after leading. The drop back to 800m looks perfect and although drawn wide has the services of good jockey and might be too speedy for these. ISAREADY was very disappointing first up at Toowoomba as a short priced favourite but can win if he bounces back to the form that saw him win his maiden impressively on debut three runs ago. SPECIAL CASE is a lightly raced 8yo gelding who is showing enough to be given a value hope in this. SADDLE BOY won well at the non-tab meeting at Toowoomba on Cup day in good time, this race is harder but has a chance.

Race 2: MR MAJESTIC finished off very well on debut for 3rd at Sunshine Coast in a stronger maiden than this and the step up to 1200m looks ideal, very hard to beat. LINTHORPE LAD was good on debut at Toowoomba when hitting the line well for 3rd and the extra distance should suit, each way chance. BETTER IN THAN OUT has plenty of pace but the quick rise to 1200m could be the query late, place hope.

Race 3: ABB ROY doesn’t win often but finds a suitable race on home track and has a good record over this distance. Will push forward and race on the pace and has a solid each way chance. UNRESOLVED is a recent addition to the Mark Currie stable. After winning at Roma second up, he ran well when finding the line strongly for 5th at Sunshine Coast. Drawn the inside and will be hard to beat. THE HOOLIGAN has a good winning strike rate and likes this track but has failed at all three attempts this distance range. Winning chance but looks short enough in early markets. FEARLESS QUEEN doesn’t win out of turn but can put in a good run from time to time and has a place hope.

Race 4: EXCEED ROCK was game first up at Toowoomba after working hard outside the leader and was only grabbed late by Mr Brose who had the drop on him, will race on pace and take plenty of running down. MILLY WILL PARTY was a complete forgive after missing the start hopelessly first up at Dalby after being backed off the map. She gets the services of leading jockey this time and with any luck from the wide draw could make amends. PALICKI dumped the rider just after jumping when a short priced favourite at Dalby last time out. Previous form solid and looks next pick. UBETWEDO is consistent and from the inside gate looks next best.

Race 5: Open race with many chances so going for value with BEL BEAU who has been racing well in slightly stronger races of late and is one of the best weighted horses all day after the claim for promising young apprentice Zac Lloyd, good each way chance. THE MINIVAN would win this on best form but don’t think he’s racing that well at present. Won his only start at this track and can’t be ruled out if bounces back to form. GOTTA BE FIRST is another who gets in well at the weights after the claim and won his only start this track and distance, each way hope. STEINBRENNER was a big tip at Toowoomba last week before the meeting got abandoned after the lights went out. He’s been working very well and good jockey booked, value chance.

Race 6: UNCONDITIONAL was an impressive 2nd at Gold Coast first up when hitting the line hard. Gets in with a featherweight after the claim for promising young apprentice and has a good second up record, will be suited by the fast pace engaged here and will take plenty of holding out late. MY BELLY BUTTON will also be well suited by the fast pace and gets good weight relief so look for him storming home late, main danger. COLPO DI TAMBURO is racing as consistent as ever and loves this track, has a tricky draw to overcome but can’t be ruled out. MR MARBELLOUZ has the big weight to carry but on class alone must be given a winning chance.
