Last start BM65 Doomben drew outside was slow away sat back 6L off leader on a slow tempo (unsuited). He charged home late to win by 2.1L without too many favours in the run. His L800m closing figures closing were totally dominant for the race. Lightly raced 3YO with high quality closing speed and should map closer today with a clean start.

R6 n5 DAMASK ROSE Back inside off MF on map. 2^° up off 21 days and well suited out to 1400m (+200m). Last start resumed off 91 days sat 3L behind leader/winner on a slow tempo and just couldn’t run leader down late off that beaten 1L. She had an excellent L600m figure there and meets similar opposition today off a good map out to 1400m. Needs another win but did race against the best last prep in Group 1 races and expect her to be too classy late for these and keen she wins.

Last start prior to spell won a high rating Caulfield Guineas off a brutal tempo and did resume for that prep at 1400m when huge late behind Sixties beaten 0.6L. High class colt with huge closing speed. Keen he wins.

R9 n1 LAZZURA Maps back near last outside. Resumes off 112-day spell and two trials. Ran 3rd most recent 1000m Rosehill Jan 29 beaten 13L by Caballus. High quality mare proven first up with huge closing speed late off any tempos. She is thrown into this race under the set weight conditions and despite being well back on map she should be too classy and run over the top of them late.

R10 n9 TONKIN Forward early on or just off speed. Resumes off 119-day spell and two trials. Won most recent 900m Rosehill Feb 12 winning by 1.2L – she was very impressive winning that trial sitting 2d and too strong late under no riding. Lightly raced 4YO mare in great stable who maps ideally for Zac Lloyd off this tempo. Had huge figures last prep off very fast tempos and is ready now for 1100m this prep. Keen she wins today.

R7 n2 SICILIAN WARRIOR Has continued to improve at each run this prep including last start when closed off well for 3rd in a fast run race at Gatton over 1400m. The step up to a mile looks ideal and maps perfectly behind the speed from the soft draw, hard to beat.

    BEST BETS

R1 n4 WATTO’S MARK Last start 3YO Listed sat 3rd on very slow tempo and ran home in very similar figures to the talented winner Playin’it Sweet beaten 1.6L. That horse has now won seven races and won again impressively in Listed class next start – it was a strong race. His closing figures from his last two runs have been excellent and sets up great today stalking the speed back to 1000m. Keen he wins.

R3 n8 ACHY BREAKY Debut 2YO Ascot drew outside sat back 8L off leader on an even tempo when beaten 4L by Maria Lucia who was brilliant winning Magic Millions last week. Closing figures there were dominant for race closing off with 5th fastest L200m of meeting. That’s an excellent effort for a 2YO on debut off an outside draw and that form line is clearly best in this race

    Morphettville Meeting Selections

    BEST BET

R4 n1 RONNY BEE 3rd up off 14 days rises 1.5kg and very well suited out to 1522m (+322m). Last start sat back 5th 3L off lead on a slow tempo and charged home late but couldn’t run the inform on speed winner down at 1200m off that tempo. His L600m figure there was very strong, will eat up the extra distance today 3rd up and looks the winner.
