R2 n12 REDFORD Forward inside early on map from this draw. 3ª up off 14 days drops 1kg out to 1615M (+215m). Last start Eagle Farm drew wider was slow away and went back 8th on a slow tempo and was then 3 wide no cover from the 1000m chasing from the back. He ran 4th beaten 2L when was heavily backed late in betting. Tempo and race shape were against him there but closing figures were excellent. Out to 1600m looks to suit and maps a lot better today with J Orman back aboard and blinkers on.

R3 n7 IVERSON Maps closer today from draw in small field and out to 1600m. 3rd up off 14 days drops 4.5kg and well suited out to 1615m (+215m). Last start Gold Coast G4 drew wide and went back near last early on an even tempo ran home late for 3rd beaten 0.6L when very easy late in betting. His closing figures there were strong and out to 1600m 3rd up suits off a better map. Up from BM78 to Open Hcp but has powerful closing speed and is ready to win with 52kg.

R9 n9 TRIBECA STAR Maps back off midfield and suited from there late. 3a up off 21 days stays at 1200m. Last start Eagle Farm drew wide and went back near last on a very slow tempo-completely unsuited. He had to take off early from there and charged home late to run 21d beaten narrowly (winner on speed). Closing figures there were strong, but he just peaked on the line off that long sprint home. Race was not run to suit and his effort was excellent. Lot better suited here and can run these down late and win.

R7 n1 MALECON Found the line okay on debut for 5th over 1200m then stepped up to 1400m but went too slow outside the leader and got outsprinted when finishing 2nd. The step up to a mile looks ideal and gets a big jockey upgrade, can lead and win a very thin race.

R7 n1 AIR ASSAULT 4th up off 17 days and well weighted today after the claim back to this class. Last start Balaklava Cup drew outside (14) crossed and led on a very fast tempo but too strong late winning by 0.4L when heavily backed late. Figures there were dominant for the meeting, and he gets lead/control again today from the wide draw and should control this race from there. Better than these and keen he wins.

R2 n7 SET TO SHINE Continues to go from strength to strength winning 3 of her past 4 starts including her last 2 at Doomben in strong fashion. She has a great racing style and from the good gate will get herself on speed, gets in with a very light weight for the in-form Emily Lang and will take plenty of running down late.

R9 n10 TALK TIME Is a smart local horse building a nice record and looks set to peak at 3d run back from a spell today. He resumed with a strong closing 2nd over 1200m then hit the line well for 4th in inferior ground at Eagle Farm last start. Steps up to a mile which looks ideal on his home track and maps well on the back of a solid speed, can run over the top of them late to score.

R3 n7 UNUSUAL LEGACY Back last on map 2d up off 14 days drops 2kg and well suited out to 1800m (+300m). Resumed off 105 days here, drew outside went back near last but stormed home late for 2nd beaten 2L (winner was on speed). He had dominant late closing figures from that race and out to 1800m 2a up is ideal. Unbeaten 2/2 2nd up but maps back near last and will be very strong late again today off this tempo. Destined for much better races than this one.

R8 n2 STORM BOY Leads and controls on map on fast tempo 2’d up off 14 days out to 1200m (+100m). Resumed off 147 days led and controlled on an even tempo before a powerful L600m sprint put his rivals to the sword winning by 2.9L. The overall figures from the race were the best of the meeting and he finished off with 6th fastest L200m of meeting. It was a very impressive win and a clear career peak performance figure. Big gross colt who will be fitter 2nd up and very hard to beat again and he really runs for this jockey.

R10 n14 BLANC DE BLANC Maps 3P back inside. 2d up off 14 days drops 5kg stays at 1100m. Resumed off 161-day spell Rosehill drew outside went back 6th on an even tempo and ran home powerfully late for 2nd beaten 2L by Briasa (smart) and gave him 2.5kg in weight. Gets a lot better map today from inside draw and will be fitter. Will be very hard to beat.

R5 n5 BATTLEFIELD Maps back MF and inside from this draw at 1000m. 5th up off 45 days and impressively won trial Deagon Sept 3rd. His form this prep has been excellent at 1200-1350m and back to 10000m today looks some concern. Flying for new stable in Brisbane (ex M Vella) with blinkers off and unbeaten this track 2/2 but has never been a 1000m horse previously. Has huge closing speed and will be storming home late off this tempo.

R6 n8 TRIBECA STAR Gets back on map early from wide draw. 2a up off 17 days drops 3kg stays at 1200m. Resumed off 144-day spell weak Class 3 Sun Coast G4 drew inside went back 7th on a slow tempo (unsuited) but was way too strong late winning easily 1.3L when smashed late in betting. His closing speed there was outstanding off the slow tempo with completely meeting dominant L400/200m figures. Tougher class race here and will have to come from the back again off this map but is a lightly raced 5YO in top stable and he has top end closing speed in his races.

R8 n4 HIDDEN WEALTH Maps forward inside from draw and should have leaders back there. Resumes off short 77-day spell and won trial Doomben Aug 27. Lightly raced horse with good overall record and loves Eagle Farm. Up to Open Class today for first time but well suited off this map to strike in the straight with 53.5kg. Clear top pick and should be winning.

R4 n1 PRIVATE BANKER Hasn’t had much luck his past two runs and finds a suitable race today 3ª up from a spell. There isn’t a lot of speed on paper so he should find the front today back on his home track where he has a good record and will take plenty of running down.

R2 n5 MARTINI MUMMA Maps forward in 1×1 position and suited from there. Resumes off 112-day spell and no public trials. Lightly race mare who is hard to assess here -last prep won a Highway (Class 3) like a good horse in great figures for the meeting. She closed off powerfully there, off a very fast tempo. Untapped potential and J Mac (first ride) is a key booking. Keen she wins this race.

R8 n10 ZARDOZI Maps forward 4th in 1×1 position and suited. 2nd up off 14 days and well suited out to 1600m (+200m). Resumed off 133-day spell Randwick G4 drew inside went back to 7th early on tempo, ran 6th beaten 2.3L when unfancied in betting ($26). Lightly raced high class staying mare who gets J Mac back aboard today (he won VRC Oaks on her) and she has exceptional 2nd up form. Looks the likely winner of this very weak Group 2 race off this map.

R9 n8 AMELIAS JEWEL Maps 3 pairs back outside and suited. Resumes off 119 days and two acceptable trials. Excellent fresh form and maps well to run on late here this tempo. Resuming at 1400m is perfect for her and should be too good for these horses today. Looks winner.

R5 n9 NAVAL TRADER Good map forward from inside draw to be behind the speed. 2* up off 21 days drops 2.5kg out to 1350m(+150m). Resumed here Slow 7 off 154-day spell, drew inside and was ridden forward to sit 3rd on a fast tempo. Hung on well late for 3rd to be beaten 0.7L and the overall figures from the race were good. Dry tracker who is lot better placed today at this distance and all his 2d up form is good. Looks set for a good campaign off his return run.

R2R2 n1 GREAT BARRIER REEF Was an impressive winner at Sunshine Coast last start defeating his main danger here in Medals. Meets that horse better at the weights, maps nicely behind him in the box seat and can run over the top again late to score.

R6 n1 PALEFACE RINGO Is a speedy horse resuming from a break. He is yet to run a bad race and his two runs at this track have produced a win and an unlucky 2d. Maps to lead from the inside gate and will take a power of beating from there.

R2 n3 SEQUESTERED Maps 3 pairs back outside and suited from there late. 3’a up off 14 days out to 1500m (+100m). Last start here S6 went back 9th on a very slow tempo (completely unsuited) and was then held up at 400m before running 3rd beaten 0.7L when well backed. Her closing figures there were outstanding considering the above. Well suited back onto dryer ground today and peaks 3rd up fitness wise at 1500m, ready to win.

R6 n2 GATSBY’S Maps 4th in 1×1 and well suited there. 2nd up off 14 days stays at 1100m. Resumed here off 154 days drew near outside in small field and restrained back to 6th off an even tempo but super strong late winning easily 1.9L. He joined in there at 150m and exploded-eased right down on the line. Overall figures from that race were excellent and his closing speed was elite. High class colt stays at 1100m 2nd up but will be charging home over the top of these late.

R8 n10 AMOR VICTORIUS Leads and controls on map. 2nd up off 14 days rises 1kg out to 1500m (+100m). Resumed off 140 days here $5 drew soft and led/controlled on a slow tempo (suited) but was beaten late by 1.9L by Tom Kitten when he was heavily backed late. His closing figures there were plain by his normal standards, which is some concern but nothing wrong with losing to Tom Kitten, that will be strong form by the end of the Spring carnival. Gets lead and control today on a slow tempo and well suited.

R9 n12 WILLAIDOW Leads inside on map. 3rd up off 21 day drops 2.5kg stays at 1200m. Last start Randwick when 2nd up off a short 98-day spell with blinkers off- visors on first time, he led and controlled from a wide draw on a slow tempo winning well late by 1.8L. Overall figures from the race were only plain but he did have gth fastest L200m of meeting so there was some strength in his close and the form was franked last Saturday from there. Lightly raced 6YO who had some quality figures last prep when out to 1400m off fast tempos and keen he leads and wins today.

R5 n6 JOHN RAMBO Maps back off midfield and off fence. Resumes off 175 days and placed Doomben 1000m trial July 30th. He was ridden quietly in trial and ran home under a hold. Has got good fresh stats and finished his last prep strongly. Last two runs before spelling he was responsible for two electric finishes in unsuitable races with excuses. Lightly raced 5YO in leading stable who will be charging home late today off this tempo. I am convinced he will win stronger races than this down the track.

R6 n5 VIMINELE Might race closer on the map at this distance from the soft draw. 3d up off 14 days out to 1630m (+280m). Last start here H8 went right back to 8th off a slow tempo and was 7L off leader/winner in an on-speed race. Had way too much to do from there off that set up but he really flattened out hard over the last 200m. He had the 7th fastest L200m of the meeting- it was a very good effort. Lot better horse on dry tracks and both runs this prep have been excellent. Out to 1630m for the first time is the unknown but he is ready to win.

R2 n3 TALANA Led and won impressively over this course and distance two back then got caught 3 wide in a speed duel before fighting on well for 3rd at this track and trip again. Should find the lead this time and will take plenty of running down from there.

R5 n3 ELIYASS Maps 3 pairs back outside on slow tempo resuming off 77 days and two trials. Resumed off 265 days here H9 track drew soft and went back 6th early on a fast tempo nut unleashed late to win by 1.8L. The figures from the race were outstanding – he looks like a high-quality stayer. Back onto dryer ground today is the unknown as all wins/runs so far have been on wet or synthetic tracks. He might be even better on dryer tracks-that’s the unknown. Impossible to ignore the quality of his last win though and he is a clear top pick against this class of horse.

R6 n1 MANAAL Maps 3 pairs back outside resuming off 126-day spell and two special trials. High class 3YO filly resuming off a great 2YO campaign in all the best races. 1200m at this track where all 3 of her wins have been is also a plus. Clearly the horse to beat in this race, she will be very strong late today and I expect her to win well.

R8 n6 FANGIRL Maps back near last on an average tempo resuming off 175-day spell off two trials. (J Mac rode in both). Outstanding mare with brilliant fresh record who loves Randwick and dry tracks. Clear top pick despite being back on the map, she will roll home over the top of these late out wider in the straight and win.

R10 n7 SPRING LEE Maps 3 pairs back outside and suited from there late off this tempo. 2nd up off 21 days rises 1kg out to 1200m (+100m). Resumed off short 77-day spell Rosehill G4 drew inside went back 8th (keen) on a fast tempo and charged home late for 2a beaten 0.5L. Overall figures from race were excellent and she closed off very well. Lightly raced well-bred mare better than BM78 class and she does have serious closing speed. M Zahra a huge plus.

R4 n5 BOHEMIAN LAD 5th up off 14 days out to 1300m (+100m). Unbeaten on this track (2/2). Last start drew outside went back on an even tempo (it was an on-speed race) but ran home strongly for 3rd beaten 2.81 by Invincible Shield who is very smart. His last three runs have all been good and will be well suited here late down the middle of the track off this tempo. Softer track suits today.

R5 n3 EVOLEUS Is a fast mare who was narrowly beaten on debut over this distance in Adelaide two runs back. She resumed and hung badly when 3rd at Ipswich over 800m last start. Has since jumped out at Toowoomba in very good style and can offset the wide gate to lead and win.

R4 n8 LOST Maps MF inside 3P back. 2d up off 17 days drops 1.5kg and well suited out to 1100m (+100m). She resumed off 144-day spell Warwick Farm slow 6, drew outside and went back to 7th on an even tempo but charged home late to win easily by 2.4L when heavily backed in high quality closing figures. A talented mare who sets up ideally off this map to charge home late and win this race. She has elite closing speed.

R5 n5 SEQUESTERED Maps MF on outside 4P back and suited from there late this tempo. 2nd up off 21 days rises 2.5kg and suited out to 1400m (+100m). Resumed off 259-day spell Randwick H8 went back 8th on a very slow tempo and was strong late for 3rd beaten 0.8L when race shape was against her and not in the best ground. She still ran the fastest L200m of the meeting and sets up well today off that out to 1400m. Her peak rating last prep was 2nd up at 1400m and is clear top pick back to mares class today.

R7 n4 ROCKRIBBED Map in front inside or 3rd leaders back from ideal draw. 4th up off 14 days drops 1kg stays at 1350m. Last start here G4 drew soft sat 4th on a fast tempo and won narrowly. Soft track and Doomben 1350m off 14 days suits off an ideal map. Lightly raced 7YO who has been excellent since joining Gollan stable in Brisbane and clear top pick again off this map after the claim.

R2 n5 BLUE CHIP GIRL Is an ex Victorian resuming for the in-form Geran stable. She brings solid form from down south for a race like this and looks ready to go judging by her solid jump outs recently. Maps nicely just behind the speed and should be too strong late for these.

R4 n1 MEDALS Was a dominant winner resuming at this track over the shorter trip, then led and fought on well for 3rd in fast time at Sunshine Coast last start. Will be better for that run and can find the front again here, will take plenty of running down.
