R4 n5 BELVEDERE BOYS Gets well back on map. 6th up off 14 days rises 3kg and out to 2200m (+100m). Last start Eagle Farm was off 28 days with 53kg sat back 8th inside 6L off leaders on a fast tempo. Finished too well in straight and won easily 1.2L when solidly backed. That race was a significant step up in class for him but he handled it with ease and overall figures from race were VG off that tempo. Lightly raced well-bred 5YO coming off a career peak figure and thriving on the +2000m distance ranges. Loves wet tracks and map suits running home out wider in straight late here.

R5 n6 MISS ROUMBINI 3ª up off 35 days drops 3.5kg and suited out to 1300m (+100m). Last start Ballarat was ridden closer in 5* on an even tempo 5L off leaders but was too strong and classy late winning narrowly but impressively and runner up there has been VG since. Closing figures were excellent for meeting. First run right handed direction but trainer has stables in Sydney now so she would have had plenty of gallops that way for this race today. Good mare peaks here and proven on soft. Maps suits running home wider in straight off this tempo.

R6 n5 SEMANA Resumes off short 91 day spell and ran 5* 800m trial at Newcastle Dec 4 where she ran on late from last under no riding. Won 1400m MM Cup at this meeting last year with 54kg when 2ª up. Finished last prep with two plain runs which is always some concern with horses resuming but she went to another level before that winning at Group 3 level and being very competitive in genuine Group 1 Mares races out to 1600m. Proven on soft tracks and 1200m today fresh off this tempo running home late out wider in straight is ideal.

Last start Pakenham was 2nd up drew outside went back 10L off leaders on a slow tempo (unsuited). She ran home powerfully late for 2nd beaten 1.2L by Elphinstone when heavily backed $3.80. Proven out to 1800m gets 2,5kg weight swing on Elphinstone for unlucky loss. Ready now and better than this class.

R6 n7 LA FRACAS Forward inside behind leaders midfield. 3ª up off 27 days out to 1600m (+200m). Last start Bendigo was slow away (2L) sat back last inside 12L off leaders on a very slow tempo (completely unsuited) ran home late for 4th beaten 2.1L by Haraldus (poor since). His closing figures there were quality- meeting best L400m. Lightly raced 4YO gelded on the up, in a race that sets up well for him today.

R8 n5 PEREILLE Wider and suited back off leaders at this tempo. 5* up off 10 days rises 1.5kg and stays at 1200m. Last start Canterbury sat back last 7L on a slow tempo (unsuited) and ran home strongly to hit front in straight before lowna Merc nailed him late from behind. He gets 2.5kg weight swing first run down the Flemington straight which will suit him from this draw, has huge closing speed and keen he wins.

Dominant closing figures from the race with 6th fastest L200m of meeting and the ride there was questioned by stewards. Nice horse and proven on Heavy track suited out to 1100m here. Can go forward or back early off this draw.

R5 n6 BONITA QUEEN Leads and controls on map. Resumes off 96 day spell and two trials. Won latest 800m trial Warwick Farm Jan 3 brilliantly. Ran 2d resuming last prep by Group filly Zeitung who had much softer run in race. Proven up to Soft 5 tracks so far and will lead and control this race. She just jumps and runs fast early and can really kick hard off those sort of tempos-well suited around this track.

R6 n2 INVADER ZIM Forward early inside to be 3rd on leaders back. 2d up off 14 days and suited out to 1300m (+100m). Last start BM78 Randwick resumed off 105 day spell sat back 4th in 1×1 position on a very slow tempo (suited). He had a clear run home from there running 2d to Disneck (won since) beaten 2.2L. Lightly raced 4YO in leading stable unbeaten 2* up (2 from 2) and proven out to 1300m. Suited back to this class today off that. Proven on Heavy and claim is very significant off a good map.

He was heavily backed to beat her there. Run prior was strong to the line late at 1100m behind Gerringong (smart) resuming. C Williams rides today, and he has been crying out for 1400m with tempo. Target race by astute stable and proven on Soft.

R10 n3 COSMIC FIRE Midfield on map outside and suited from there this tempo. 3d up off 15 days rises 1kg and suited out to 1100m. Last start Gold Coast off 34 days and trial at Sun Coast he drew outside and went back very wide and 7L off the leaders on a very slow tempo (completely unsuited). Ran on hard late out wide on track with 3rd fastest L200m of meeting for 2’a beaten 3L by Arabian Summer. That run should be a great form reference for this race and he will be strong late off this fast tempo off a better map today. Loves Soft and big win only run this track on Heavy 8.

Not a regular winner, his last win was in this race last year but is he better than these horses.

R9 n8 SHE’S BULLETPROOF Maps suits inside behind fast tempo. 4th up off 39 days and won jump out brilliantly at Pakenham Dec 24. Last start Caulfield Group 3 drew outside and went forward to 3rd in 1×1 position on a slow tempo and chased hard in straight running 2d to Niance (very smart) beaten 0.8L. The subsequent form behind them in that race has been very strong. Her form this preparation has been excellent and map suits, loses C Williams today but keen she wins.

Closing figures were VG. Negative riding change but she has powerful closing speed in her races and very hard to beat.

R7 n9 AMAZING EAGLE Forward on map to be 3d on leaders back and suited there. 3ra up off 35 days and ran 2nd 900m trial Rosehill Dec 23 beaten 3L. He cruised in front in trial and was throttled down late-VG trial. Drops 3.5kg and stays at 1200m off last start 3YO Doomben H10 track when he sat last on a fast tempo and went very wide on turn before charging home late for 2nd narrowly beaten. Negative riding change but is so well suited today with light weight and map looks perfect.

R9 n12 APEX Maps 4P back outside and suited there late this tempo. 4th up off 15 days drops 5.5kg back to 1100m (-100m). Last start Canterbury 3/4YO BM64 sat 4th outside 6L off leaders on a very fast tempo and rider may have gone too early on him there running 2nd to Dance To The Boom (very smart) in quality overall figures. He had 59.5kg and his closing figures were excellent when heavily backed late $2.40. Gelded this prep and is an emerging young horse.

She still had strong L400m figures from race and was off 27 days up to 60kg. Good fast mare who loves this track and gets lead again from inside draw with big weight.

Resumed off short 67 day break Wyong drew outside restrained back to 8th inside on a very slow tempo (unsuited) and was held up in straight until the 100m before charging late for 2^a beaten 0.4L by O’Ole when well backed late. She had dominant closing L400m figures there and clearly should have won that race. Back onto the bigger track today-she will be very strong late today.

R4 n8 MAWJOOD Forward on map to 3rd early on leaders back. Resumes off 122 day spell and one VG trial when 3rd Rosehill Dec 10. Talented lightly raced horse well suited today if ready to go and trial was impressive. Best figures from last prep wins this race.

R5 n3 JEWELLERY Maps 4th on outside in 1/1 position. 3d up off 14 days drops 1kg rises 2kg and stays at 1200m. Last start Randwick drew outside and went to 5th on a very slow tempo and was wide with no cover- but not as affected as most think wide on that tempo. Ran 3rd to Disneck beaten 1.8L. Has had excuses last three runs now and run prior to those was only a length off Baraqiel when should have finished closer. Well suited back to F/M Class today with 57kg after claim.

R6 n2 EYE OF THE FIRE Maps 3P back outside. 4th up off 14 days drops 2kg stays at 1200m. Last start BM78 Randwick went forward to 3rd on a very slow tempo (suited) and had EPC in run but was run down right on the line by Disneck (56.5kg). He was out to 1200m there first time this prep and ridden a lot closer to the lead with 59kg so his effort was good running the 4th fastest L200 of meeting. Having a great prep and well placed here with 57kg-ridden quieter today.

He stepped up to this trip last start but didn’t look comfortable on the very heavy track but battled on well for 4th at Sunshine Coast. Gets back on home track and will find this easier, looks the winner.

R3 n2 BEZIQUE Forward inside on map to be behind leaders. Resumes off 157 day spell and won trial Doomben Nov 19. Led with pressure in trial from Rothfire and was held together winning softly on the line. Fast mare and has VG fresh form and is well placed today with the claim. Better than these.

R7 n9 ICARIAN DREAM Gets back off midfield on map. 4th race start off 21 days drops 3kg and suited out to 1200m (+100m). Last start Rosehill S7 track drew wider in small field sat back 6th on a fast tempo and ran on strongly late to run 2″ narrowly beaten by The Playwright who led and controlled winning in strong figures. All three career runs have been rock solid and out to 1200m suits big time, keen she wins today.

R8 n3 HIDDEN WEALTH Positive early from wider draw to be on speed. 2a up off 21 days rises 2kg and stays at 1200m. Resumed off short 63 day break, Doomben H10 track jumped fast and led on a fast tempo and bolted in winning by 3.4L from Cifrado who has won since. Figures from race were completely dominant for meeting and he had outstanding closing speed off a fast tempo which is a sign of true quality in a horse. Back to Eagle Farm is no issue to him. He is low level flying this horse.

R9 n8 WEIGALL TIGER Leads and controls from wide draw. 3rd up off 23 days drops 3kg and out to 1400m (+50m). 21ª up Class 4 Ipswich drew outside (11) with 58kg jumped fast and led them 3 wide early on a very fast tempo before taking over and racing away to win impressively 2.5L in meeting best figures. Both runs back this prep have now been very good and out to 1400m now should be okay. Dry tracker and suited today back to Eagle Farm 1400m this tempo.

R10 n5 TALTARNI FIELDS Positive early from wider draw to be on speed. 3rª up off 24 days and stays at 1200m. Last start Doomben S6 2nd up off 32 days and a trial sat 4th on an even tempo but charged late when clear to win easily by 1.3L. Strong closing figures there and now unbeaten since the blinkers have come off. Decent horse for this class of race and drawn a bit wider will suit at this track by R10.

Nice mare gets map control up front again today.

R8 n6 NADAL Well back on map but suited there this tempo. 5th up off 28 days rises 1.5kg and out to 1400m (+200m). Last start Cranbourne was ridden quietly early off a very fast tempo and sat back MF wide with cover but was 8L off leaders. Fast tempo upfront suited but he exploded late winning like a Group class horse. Had conditions to suit there but could not have been more impressive with meeting best figures and 3rd fastest L200m of meeting coming off a very fast tempo, elite win.

R6 n3 GILDED WATER Good map 4th in 1×1 position, 2nd up off 28 days rises 3kg out to 2400m (+400m). Resumed off 156 day spell sat 4th on a very fast tempo and was brave late to win in strong figures. He did have every chance in run there, but it was a brutally run race and he lifted late to win strongly. Will be much fitter now 2d up and 2400m looks ideal.

His form tapered off at the end of last preparation but his best form including a win over this course and distance is good enough to win this, and judging by his recent jump out win, he looks to have come back in great form. Can lead from the inside and will take plenty of running down.

R4 n9 FIND YOUR OWN Positive early on map to lead. Off a short 56 day break and won Gold Coast trial Dec 5. His trial win there was brilliant, led under a strangle hold and won by a big margin and never really ever let go by jockey in fast time. Much improved sprinter with the blinkers off last prep, soft track okay for him and just runs and wins off fast tempos.

R8 n10 ABOUNDING MF on map and suited from there late. 2ª up off 17 days drops 2kg and suited out to 1300m (+100m). Resumed Doomben S5 off 151 days drew outside and went to 6th off a fast tempo but was far too strong late when got clear air winning impressively by 0.6L Overall figures were excellent and she had the 6th fastest L200m of the meeting. Quality mare who finished last prep with an outstanding 4th to Bella Nipotina in Group 1 Tatts Tiara with same weight as today. Clear top pick today off that against this field and proven on soft.

Last start BM70 Donald G4 led and controlled (change of tactics) on an even tempo and bolted in late winning by 3.5L when heavily backed- 2’a horse there has won well since). Figures from race were best of meeting and she had the fastest L400/200m of the day. 3ra up here and can only be fitter/better-looks the winner.

R9 n3 WARNIE Good map behind leaders here. 4th up off 14 days drops 4kg back into a BM100 from Group 3 and well suited out to 1500m. Last start Caulfield sat 3rª on a slow tempo (suited) ran 3ra beaten 0.9L by Wewal in quality figures. His run prior behind Bel Air at Flemington was excellent without any luck at all in the straight. All three runs/figures since coming to C Maher stable from Ireland have been very good and looks clear stand out in this race with only 55kg.

R10 n7 ZOU SENSATION Map favours behind speed here. 4th up off 15 days and stays at 1200m. Last start Moonee Valley G3 track sat 4th inside on a slow tempo with EPC but put them away late winning effortlessly by 2.5L in good figures. He closed off fast there with 2nd fastest L200m of meeting. Tough dry track horse who has come back this prep with crossover nose band off and is in the zone now. Harder class race today but gets map favours and clearly the horse to beat.

R7 n3 SEA KING Maps 3P back inside 3rd up off 39 days and impressive Gold Coast trial Dec 5. He closed off powerfully there late and Nash went up to ride him in the trial. Dominant win Bendigo Cup by 3.7L when heavily backed in meeting best figures and then given zero hope of winning the Melbourne Cup going back to last and coming widest on turn when you had to be inside on the fence. Looks a high quality stayer and clear top pick.

R7 n2 TRANSATLANTIC Positive early on map from draw 3rd up off 21 days and stays at 1400m. Last start Sun Coast H8 track drew outside and went forward early to lead and control on a slow tempo (suited) before bolting in by 4.8L when smashed in betting. He just took off at the 300m there and looked in a different post code to the rest-running the fastest L200m of meeting. Gelded this prep and while conditions suited last run- the ease of that win cannot be ignored. Ideal map today to do it all again.

R9 n2 GIVE ME SPACE Gets back midfield outside on map. 4th up on 7 day back-up, rises 3kg and suited out to 1400m (+200m). Last start Doomben H10 track drew inside and was never comfortable there on worst ground back 7th before running 3rd beaten 2.8L by Street Chase. His wheels were spinning there at times and run can be forgiven. Backs up quickly from astute stable and suited this map with clear air late in straight. Drying track really suits.

She let some punters down last week but is a lot better suited at 1300m off this map in what looks like an easier race. Respecting this stable with the quick back up and overnight rain a real bonus for her.

Last start Cranbourne G3 went to 5th early from a wider draw and travelled 3 wide no cover and was given zero chance of winning from there running 6th beaten 1.4L by Wings Of Song. Overall figures from race were only fair but she was brave late off that map. Gets a lot kinder map/set up today and overnight rain is a genuine bonus for her.

R10 n5 MIDNIGHT OPAL Maps 4th in 1×1 and suited from there late. 4th up off 14 days and back to 1300m (-100m). Last start Kembla Grange with blinkers on first time got caught wide early from an awkward draw and was allowed to roll forward to be 2nd following leader/winner lamintowin but couldn’t run that horse down late beaten 1.5L. He found that track too hard like most horses at that meeting, back to 1300m on a softer surface is ideal today.

R8 n3 ARAPAHO Map suits forward inside behind lead group. 4th up off 21 days and suited out to 2400m (+400m). Last start Group 1 Flemington went back 10th and was wide no cover on an even tempo running 5th to Via Sistina beaten 6L. Overall figures from race were outstanding as you would expect from a race of that class. That form line is clearly superior for a race like this. His run there was very similar to Without A Fight, finishing only 1L behind him at the finish. That horse would run odds on in this field. Proven at 2400m Group 1 level and loves soft tracks and very well placed at WFA.

R9 n1 TUVALU Map suits forward inside 2 up off 14 days rises 2kg and stays at 1400m. Resumed off 199 days Group 1 Caulfield drew outside went back last early on a fast tempo and ran home late for 5th beaten 3L by Kimochi. Overall figures from race were outstanding as you would expect from a race of that class and off that tempo. 2* up stays at 1400m which is never ideal but they basically used that race as a barrier trial with such a negative ride early. Maps closer today behind a hot speed- has got VG 2 up form and loves the wet. Better than these horses and under the WFA scale he will not find a more suitable race.

R10 n11 REGAL VOW 3rd up off 14 days rises 1kg and well suited out to 1600m (+200m). Last start Caulfield G4 was slow away sat back 7th on a very slow tempo and ran home powerfully to win by 0.8L. Overall figures from race were plain off that slow early speed but she let rip late with the 3ra fastest L600m of meeting and the 6th fastest L200m of meeting. It was a brilliant win 2d up and she can only be fitter and better suited out to 1600m off a faster tempo on a soft track. Good mare destined for better races.

R9 n2 WUBIN GOLD 3rd up off 21 days and both runs this prep coming from the back on slow tempos have been outstanding. Last start here her L400m was elite winning off a bad barrier. Resumed at Moonee Valley drew outside in small field and went back to last early on a slow tempo and ran 2nd beaten 0.75L by Bittercreek. Overall figures from the race were good and he closed off powerfully with 6th fastest L200m of meeting. It was a great return and sets up well today 2nd up at 1400m with J Mac off a good map.

R9 n4 ANOTHER WIL 5th up off 14 days drops 1.5kg and stays at 1400m. Last start Flemington drew inside and sat 4th on a very slow tempo but was strong late winning easily by 1.25L. Overall figures from the race were good off that tempo and he closed off with 4th fastest L200m of the meeting after being held up from 400-200m. Has got VG record at this track and distance and gets a similar map/set up today.

R10 n4 NIANCE Forward early to be on speed. 2nd up off 28 days (VG jump out Nov 4 since) and suited out to 1200m (+100m). Resumed Caulfield Listed class off 154 days on a S7 track drew soft and sat 2d on a very fast tempo but was strong late winning by 0.3L when heavily backed. Overall figures from the race were elite and dominant for meeting. Lightly raced 5YO mare suited out to 1200m 2nd up and gets control of race up on this tempo.

Last start BM88 Kenso 55 drew soft sat 2nd on an even tempo but finished powerfully to win easily 3.1 when $1.40. Overall figures from race were best of meeting which is hard to do off a tempo like that. His closing speed there was typically elite. Lightly raced and outstanding talent proven on soft and 1300m is perfect – he will launch late here with 53kg and win.

R10 n17 UZZIAH Leads inside on map. 3rd up off 14 days drops 6.5kg and well suited out to 1300m (+200m). Last start Rosehill G4 off 56 days 2d up went back 6th early on a fast tempo and ran 3rd beaten 1.7L by Tristate. I expect that race to be a very good future form reference. Overall figures from race were strong and he closed off fast- that run was excellent. Trained on this track, proven on soft and has won out to 1600m. Great set up for him today with 52kg off a good map and should lead and control.

He had meeting best sectionals there from 800m to finish, that’s rare air for a horse. He looks a genuine talent, no Jimmy Orman riding today but keen he still wins.

Overall figures from race were genuine quality and he had elite closing speed there. Gelded this prep and will be winning much better races than here, map suits and can win again.

Resumed off 119-day spell BM72 WFarm G4 sat back 7th on a very slow tempo (unsuited) and charged late to win easily 2.2L. Overall figures from race were strong off that tempo but his closing figures were borderline elite with a completely dominant L800m for the meeting. Lightly raced 4YO in top stable who loved dryer track when resuming. Draws inside down the straight which is never ideal, and he is short enough price considering that but is clear top pick with clear air in straight.

His last three runs/figures since the Visors were applied have been his best and he gets Tommy Berry back on today, well suited.
