R6 n1 FICKLE Leads with pressure inside early. 6th up off 16 days rises 1.5kg stays at 1000m. Last start BM64 Caulfield Heath track led and controlled and only just held on late to win by 0.4L from Rewards and More with a gap to 3rd. She still had strong L400m figures from race and was off 27 days up to 60kg. Good fast mare who loves this track and gets lead again from inside draw with big weight.

R1 n6 MEMO Forward to be 4th in 1/1 position on map. 2nd up off 17 days rises 2kg stays at 1100m. Resumed off short 67 day break Wyong drew outside restrained back to 8th inside on a very slow tempo (unsuited) and was held up in straight until the 100m before charging late for 2^a beaten 0.4L by O’Ole when well backed late. She had dominant closing L400m figures there and clearly should have won that race. Back onto the bigger track today-she will be very strong late today.

R4 n8 MAWJOOD Forward on map to 3rd early on leaders back. Resumes off 122 day spell and one VG trial when 3rd Rosehill Dec 10. Talented lightly raced horse well suited today if ready to go and trial was impressive. Best figures from last prep wins this race.

R5 n3 JEWELLERY Maps 4th on outside in 1/1 position. 3d up off 14 days drops 1kg rises 2kg and stays at 1200m. Last start Randwick drew outside and went to 5th on a very slow tempo and was wide with no cover- but not as affected as most think wide on that tempo. Ran 3rd to Disneck beaten 1.8L. Has had excuses last three runs now and run prior to those was only a length off Baraqiel when should have finished closer. Well suited back to F/M Class today with 57kg after claim.

R6 n2 EYE OF THE FIRE Maps 3P back outside. 4th up off 14 days drops 2kg stays at 1200m. Last start BM78 Randwick went forward to 3rd on a very slow tempo (suited) and had EPC in run but was run down right on the line by Disneck (56.5kg). He was out to 1200m there first time this prep and ridden a lot closer to the lead with 59kg so his effort was good running the 4th fastest L200 of meeting. Having a great prep and well placed here with 57kg-ridden quieter today.

R7 n3 JOHNTIALJO Lightly raced Sears trained horse who showed nice improvement at his 2nd race start when found the line strongly for 3rd in a good form race at Gold Coast. He stepped up to this trip last start but didn’t look comfortable on the very heavy track but battled on well for 4th at Sunshine Coast. Gets back on home track and will find this easier, looks the winner.

R3 n2 BEZIQUE Forward inside on map to be behind leaders. Resumes off 157 day spell and won trial Doomben Nov 19. Led with pressure in trial from Rothfire and was held together winning softly on the line. Fast mare and has VG fresh form and is well placed today with the claim. Better than these.

R7 n9 ICARIAN DREAM Gets back off midfield on map. 4th race start off 21 days drops 3kg and suited out to 1200m (+100m). Last start Rosehill S7 track drew wider in small field sat back 6th on a fast tempo and ran on strongly late to run 2″ narrowly beaten by The Playwright who led and controlled winning in strong figures. All three career runs have been rock solid and out to 1200m suits big time, keen she wins today.

R8 n3 HIDDEN WEALTH Positive early from wider draw to be on speed. 2a up off 21 days rises 2kg and stays at 1200m. Resumed off short 63 day break, Doomben H10 track jumped fast and led on a fast tempo and bolted in winning by 3.4L from Cifrado who has won since. Figures from race were completely dominant for meeting and he had outstanding closing speed off a fast tempo which is a sign of true quality in a horse. Back to Eagle Farm is no issue to him. He is low level flying this horse.

R9 n8 WEIGALL TIGER Leads and controls from wide draw. 3rd up off 23 days drops 3kg and out to 1400m (+50m). 21ª up Class 4 Ipswich drew outside (11) with 58kg jumped fast and led them 3 wide early on a very fast tempo before taking over and racing away to win impressively 2.5L in meeting best figures. Both runs back this prep have now been very good and out to 1400m now should be okay. Dry tracker and suited today back to Eagle Farm 1400m this tempo.

R10 n5 TALTARNI FIELDS Positive early from wider draw to be on speed. 3rª up off 24 days and stays at 1200m. Last start Doomben S6 2nd up off 32 days and a trial sat 4th on an even tempo but charged late when clear to win easily by 1.3L. Strong closing figures there and now unbeaten since the blinkers have come off. Decent horse for this class of race and drawn a bit wider will suit at this track by R10.

Nice mare gets map control up front again today.

R8 n6 NADAL Well back on map but suited there this tempo. 5th up off 28 days rises 1.5kg and out to 1400m (+200m). Last start Cranbourne was ridden quietly early off a very fast tempo and sat back MF wide with cover but was 8L off leaders. Fast tempo upfront suited but he exploded late winning like a Group class horse. Had conditions to suit there but could not have been more impressive with meeting best figures and 3rd fastest L200m of meeting coming off a very fast tempo, elite win.

Closing figures were outstanding L400 and 3rd fastest L200m of meeting. Will be very strong late here, better than these.

R6 n3 GILDED WATER Good map 4th in 1×1 position, 2nd up off 28 days rises 3kg out to 2400m (+400m). Resumed off 156 day spell sat 4th on a very fast tempo and was brave late to win in strong figures. He did have every chance in run there, but it was a brutally run race and he lifted late to win strongly. Will be much fitter now 2d up and 2400m looks ideal.

R6 n5 TOUTE SWEET Is a speedy horse resuming from a spell. His form tapered off at the end of last preparation but his best form including a win over this course and distance is good enough to win this, and judging by his recent jump out win, he looks to have come back in great form. Can lead from the inside and will take plenty of running down.

Last start Doomben S6 track drew outside and sat well back 7th early before launching late in straight winning by 2.3L beating Skirt The Law. Figures here were best of meeting with the fastest L600/400m of meeting-her closing speed there was quality. Very impressive win and still well placed staying in BM78 class with 56.5kg off a great map. Soft track is ideal.

R4 n9 FIND YOUR OWN Positive early on map to lead. Off a short 56 day break and won Gold Coast trial Dec 5. His trial win there was brilliant, led under a strangle hold and won by a big margin and never really ever let go by jockey in fast time. Much improved sprinter with the blinkers off last prep, soft track okay for him and just runs and wins off fast tempos.

R8 n10 ABOUNDING MF on map and suited from there late. 2ª up off 17 days drops 2kg and suited out to 1300m (+100m). Resumed Doomben S5 off 151 days drew outside and went to 6th off a fast tempo but was far too strong late when got clear air winning impressively by 0.6L Overall figures were excellent and she had the 6th fastest L200m of the meeting. Quality mare who finished last prep with an outstanding 4th to Bella Nipotina in Group 1 Tatts Tiara with same weight as today. Clear top pick today off that against this field and proven on soft.

Last start BM70 Donald G4 led and controlled (change of tactics) on an even tempo and bolted in late winning by 3.5L when heavily backed- 2’a horse there has won well since). Figures from race were best of meeting and she had the fastest L400/200m of the day. 3ra up here and can only be fitter/better-looks the winner.

R9 n3 WARNIE Good map behind leaders here. 4th up off 14 days drops 4kg back into a BM100 from Group 3 and well suited out to 1500m. Last start Caulfield sat 3rª on a slow tempo (suited) ran 3ra beaten 0.9L by Wewal in quality figures. His run prior behind Bel Air at Flemington was excellent without any luck at all in the straight. All three runs/figures since coming to C Maher stable from Ireland have been very good and looks clear stand out in this race with only 55kg.

R10 n7 ZOU SENSATION Map favours behind speed here. 4th up off 15 days and stays at 1200m. Last start Moonee Valley G3 track sat 4th inside on a slow tempo with EPC but put them away late winning effortlessly by 2.5L in good figures. He closed off fast there with 2nd fastest L200m of meeting. Tough dry track horse who has come back this prep with crossover nose band off and is in the zone now. Harder class race today but gets map favours and clearly the horse to beat.

Last start in Flemington sat 2’a in a run on race when 5th to Amelita beaten 1.4L-she was clearly best of on speed runners in this race. Run prior at Moonee Valley was very good when 21d behind Certain Rise beaten 0.8L. Decent 3YO filly against the older horses here but maps well on the speed and she was really strong late in her recent trial.

R7 n3 SEA KING Maps 3P back inside 3rd up off 39 days and impressive Gold Coast trial Dec 5. He closed off powerfully there late and Nash went up to ride him in the trial. Dominant win Bendigo Cup by 3.7L when heavily backed in meeting best figures and then given zero hope of winning the Melbourne Cup going back to last and coming widest on turn when you had to be inside on the fence. Looks a high quality stayer and clear top pick.

Last start Class 2 Toowoomba drew soft and went to 3ra early on an even tempo before cruising past them to win easily 4.3L at $1.40. He had meeting dominant closing figures there from 800m to finish which is always a big plus and out to 1200m today will suit off that. Class 2 Toowoomba to BM85 in City is never easy but he has had the fastest L200m of the meeting in every one of his three runs/wins-which is unique. Drying conditions in his favour.

R7 n2 TRANSATLANTIC Positive early on map from draw 3rd up off 21 days and stays at 1400m. Last start Sun Coast H8 track drew outside and went forward early to lead and control on a slow tempo (suited) before bolting in by 4.8L when smashed in betting. He just took off at the 300m there and looked in a different post code to the rest-running the fastest L200m of meeting. Gelded this prep and while conditions suited last run- the ease of that win cannot be ignored. Ideal map today to do it all again.

R9 n2 GIVE ME SPACE Gets back midfield outside on map. 4th up on 7 day back-up, rises 3kg and suited out to 1400m (+200m). Last start Doomben H10 track drew inside and was never comfortable there on worst ground back 7th before running 3rd beaten 2.8L by Street Chase. His wheels were spinning there at times and run can be forgiven. Backs up quickly from astute stable and suited this map with clear air late in straight. Drying track really suits.

Her closing figures were outstanding with the 8th fastest L200m of meeting. Has won this track and if track is downgraded it is a major advantage to her. Keen she wins.

R7 n9 MRS CHRISSIE Map suits back MF and outside this tempo. Resumes off 130 day spell and all three trials have been good. Fresh form is excellent and maps well to sit back off this early pressure and sweep home out wider late from her MF map. Very reliable mare has won this track and if rain arrives it will only benefit her.

Last start BM78 Rosehill drew inside and had perfect run/ride when 3ra to Redbreast beaten 0.4L when heavily backed late. She let some punters down last week but is a lot better suited at 1300m off this map in what looks like an easier race. Respecting this stable with the quick back up and overnight rain a real bonus for her.

R8 n6 KONASANA Maps 3P back inside. 4th up off 14 days drops 3kg and stays at 1400m. Last start Cranbourne G3 went to 5th early from a wider draw and travelled 3 wide no cover and was given zero chance of winning from there running 6th beaten 1.4L by Wings Of Song. Overall figures from race were only fair but she was brave late off that map. Gets a lot kinder map/set up today and overnight rain is a genuine bonus for her.

R10 n5 MIDNIGHT OPAL Maps 4th in 1×1 and suited from there late. 4th up off 14 days and back to 1300m (-100m). Last start Kembla Grange with blinkers on first time got caught wide early from an awkward draw and was allowed to roll forward to be 2nd following leader/winner lamintowin but couldn’t run that horse down late beaten 1.5L. He found that track too hard like most horses at that meeting, back to 1300m on a softer surface is ideal today.

That form line wins this race and is unbeaten 2nd up. Good quality mare loves the 1000m and will control this race up on speed.

This race suits M Dee knows is a key jockey change and he will be strong late here in smaller field now gelded.

R8 n3 ARAPAHO Map suits forward inside behind lead group. 4th up off 21 days and suited out to 2400m (+400m). Last start Group 1 Flemington went back 10th and was wide no cover on an even tempo running 5th to Via Sistina beaten 6L. Overall figures from race were outstanding as you would expect from a race of that class. That form line is clearly superior for a race like this. His run there was very similar to Without A Fight, finishing only 1L behind him at the finish. That horse would run odds on in this field. Proven at 2400m Group 1 level and loves soft tracks and very well placed at WFA.

R9 n1 TUVALU Map suits forward inside 2 up off 14 days rises 2kg and stays at 1400m. Resumed off 199 days Group 1 Caulfield drew outside went back last early on a fast tempo and ran home late for 5th beaten 3L by Kimochi. Overall figures from race were outstanding as you would expect from a race of that class and off that tempo. 2* up stays at 1400m which is never ideal but they basically used that race as a barrier trial with such a negative ride early. Maps closer today behind a hot speed- has got VG 2 up form and loves the wet. Better than these horses and under the WFA scale he will not find a more suitable race.

R10 n11 REGAL VOW 3rd up off 14 days rises 1kg and well suited out to 1600m (+200m). Last start Caulfield G4 was slow away sat back 7th on a very slow tempo and ran home powerfully to win by 0.8L. Overall figures from race were plain off that slow early speed but she let rip late with the 3ra fastest L600m of meeting and the 6th fastest L200m of meeting. It was a brilliant win 2d up and she can only be fitter and better suited out to 1600m off a faster tempo on a soft track. Good mare destined for better races.

Last start Caulfield G3 drew inside sat 21d on a fast tempo and was beaten narrowly after being held up in straight Group 1 Guineas. That race was dominated by on speed runners. Overall figures from race were ok but they were very slow home off that tempo- it was a strange race. Sets up well for this class of race today- it is not a strong Group 3 and gets map favours up front on a slow tempo.

R4 n5 JIMMYSSTAR Back off MF early on map. 3ª up off 21 days drops 2.5kg and stays at 1400m. Last start Caulfield G3 went back 10th on an even tempo and defied the track pattern at that meeting winning easily late by 2.2L. Overall figures from race were rock solid and he had the 8th fastest L200m of meeting. Gets back off MF again on map but he has elite closing speed in his races and B Shinn is unbeaten on him (4/4). Clear top pick for me in this race-he will get cover back in the field and unleash late.

R5 n5 POWERS OF OPAL Positive early on map to be behind lead group and away from inside. 5th up off 16 days drops 4kg out to 2000m (+400m). Last start Hawkesbury G4 drew inside sat 5th early on an even tempo but was way too good late winning an awful maiden by 5.5L. Overall figures from race were rock solid and she had the 3rd fastest L200m of the meeting so out to 2000m off that suits. J Mac went to Hawkesbury last start for the one ride so he could get the sit today and she has looked like an Oaks filly all prep.

Last start Randwick S5 off 28 days drew outside went right back to last in a race dominated by those on speed on a slow tempo (unsuited) and ran home for 5th beaten 4.1L by Far Too Easy. Overall figures from race were genuine quality and she closed off powerfully (best in race). Nice mare for a race of this class with a consistent record and carries weight well. Map looks a lot better today and will peak 3rd up off this set up.

R4 n4 IRON MAN Maps closer today 3P back inside. 7th up off 14 days rises 5kg back to 1300m (-100m). Last start Randwick G4 in strong class BM88 drew outside went back near last on a fast tempo (winner on speed) and ran home late for 6th beaten 1.3L by Willaidow. Race shape there was against him. Overall figures from race were solid. Drops sharply in class today and gets a lot better map/race shape. Clear top pick.

Last start Randwick G4 went forward on a slow tempo (suited) ran 9th beaten 4.2L by Ceolwulf in Group 1 Hcp (VG since). R3 n 2 CHOLLIMA 3rd up and both runs this prep have been excellent with excuses. Last start was well back on an even tempo then held up in straight before charging late for 3rd beaten 2.6L when heavily backed. She had the 5th fastest L200m of the meeting there and had similar closing figures resuming. She maps to be away from fence today and can swamp this field late out to the 1500m. Up in weight but way back in class and looks the winner.

Resumed G3 Doomben off 98 days (52kg) drew outside and was wide no cover on a fast tempo but was still far too good late winning by 1.6L. Overall figures from race were solid and she still had the 8th fastest L200m of meeting despite working hard early. It was an excellent win. Unbeaten this track 2/2 and while 2nd up out to 1350m with the weight rise is not ideal she should get control of race on the map and will take a lot of running down. Good mare.

Overall figures from race were solid but his closing figures were only basic-he just does not run 1400-1600m. Resumed here 1200m and ran home strongly off a slow tempo for B Shinn and his recent jump out was excellent-he was climbing all over them late there under a tight hold.

R3 n7 CERTAIN RISE Positive early on map from wide draw (B Shinn). 3a race start off 16 days, drops 1kg and stays at 1200m. Last start Mornington G4 led and controlled on a very fast tempo and bolted in winning by 4L when smashed late in betting $1.60. Overall figures from race were best of meeting and she closed off powerfully off that tempo. She was beaten on debut by a Listed class winner. Looks a genuine talent- will get to lead or be OSL ( B Shinn) on map and will control race from there.

R4 n7 POLYMNIA Maps 3P back inside 4th up off 17 days rises 1.5kg out to 1600m (+200m). Last start Kenso G4 maiden she sat back 7th early on an even tempo and charged home late for 2nd beaten 0.3L when heavily backed late. Overall figures from race were fair but she finished off strongly with 7th fastest L200m of meeting. Out to 1600m suits off that effort and it was a strong class maiden and her run was excellent. Astute stable that target this meeting each year, she will need a good ride to get off the inside in the straight, but we can leave that to J Mac.

R10 n6 FIRESTORM Maps closer today off this draw. 4th up off 21 days rises 4.5kg out to 2040m (+440m). Last start Randwick was 1900m back to 1600m G4 drew wider went back 16th on a slow tempo (unsuited) fan 10th beaten 4.3L by Ceolwulf in Group 1 Hcp (VG since). Overall figures from race were solid off that tempo and she closed off strongly. Start prior was excellent off a very fast tempo beating Unusual Legacy 1900m Rosehill on S6 track. Classy mare first run at Moonee Valley, but D Lane a key jockey change and she is so well suited today at 2040m off a good map.

Last start Randwick G4 with blinkers on drew soft went back gth on a fast tempo and charged home late narrowly beaten by Anode. He was held up inside with no clear air but sprinted hard when clear. Overall figures from race were strong and he had dominant close off that tempo. The blinkers looked to switch him right on last start and suited at 1600m and hoping for a cleaner start today.

R8 n1 ZOUGOTCHA Maps forward 3P back outside. 3ª up off 35 days rises 2.5kg and back to 1400m (-200m). Last start Randwick G4 drew soft went to 3rd on a slow tempo and was plain late running last beaten 4.6L by Fangirl. That run was right out of character for her- she is normally a very reliable Group 1 class mare and significantly gets a tongue tie on today. Quality mare at her best well weighted this scale in target race by leading stable.

R6 n4 SECRET ATTRACTION 5th up and flying this prep for new stable. She has not been let go late at her last two starts despite winning impressively. So well suited out to 1800m today, she settles mid field on map and Pike will let her rip in the straight. Keen she wins again today.

R8 n5 WEST STAR 2nd up, was outstanding resuming when drew wide and went back to last on a slow tempo before closing off in elite figures at 1000m beaten narrowly. Out to 1200m today off that and from an inside draw is perfect, he looks a genuine talent.

R3 n2 BEEBEE DAZZLER Has been luckless of late in much stronger races and comes back to his home track where he has a great record. Will sit just behind the speed and be too strong late for these.
